R. He congratulated him on his brilliant success.

2. W. The examination will begin from Monday.

R. The examination will begin on Monday.

3. W. Please write your names with ink.

R. Please write your names in ink.

4. W. I don’t agree with your proposal.

R. I don’t agree to your proposal.

Note: We agree with a person, to a proposal; with someone’s opinion; agree on a plan etc.,

R. This book contains five hundred and fifty pages.
2. W. Unless you do not try, you cannot succeed.
R. Unless you try, you cannot succeed.Note: Unless means “if not”, therefor we cannot use a double negative.

Sentence Structure | Sentence Types

A. What is a Sentence?
A group of words which makes complete sense is a sentence.
Examples:
1. Birds fly in the sky.
2. It is a good college in our city.
3. The children of that college wear blue uniform.
4. My teacher explains English very well.
5. This intelligent girl has passed her examination.
6. The president of India has awarded him a gold medal.
